Well some one just decided they couldn't live without it. I doubt it will reach the $5,000-$10,000 range that they "value" it at. Could've had a nice Fox for that...

I'm sure that the 'Serious Collector' who wants the Box of shells' with Freds Foto on the lid, must have seen the Summer 2006,Volume 13 Issue 2,The Parker Pages,Page 18? Excellent Photo of Gilbert with a Parker Shotgun.Would go well with the S/S/M artical on the BH 12b that was built for Fred in Jan 1896.I think the Stock Dims. guessed at by the "Writers" of the artical in P/Pages,differ from the Order for 'His"BH Pigeon/ Trap Gun that are in the Order Book. I set one of my TRY-Guns to the 3.3/8ths @ heel with a 13.3/4" length of pull....He does'nt look like a 'Sumo Wrestler' in the Photo!!Gunshop Humor.....cc

S682, It is now in the Collection of Older Doc,www.gun-vault.com see the Historical Listing. I've a letter from a distant relative of "FG" from St Louis,....somewhere. I killed several Pigeons on a friends farm with it last time I shot it,Hand-loads Black-Powder, from 20 to 45 yds.A Killing Machine from the Distant Past". dt

DAVID, Is the sock cotton, woolen or silk? as all auction catalogs worthy of their ilk specify, "Increasingly luxurious fabric ensures proportionate increases in price estimates". We need to know.......KBM

The shell box with Fred Gilber's picture is dirt cheap compared to that little rectangular piece of card stock with Honus Wagner's picture!!

Absolute proof that a few people have too much money. Way too much. The final price was $3990. Pete
