But what about the basic idea of how the guns are cocked?
I always thought Ansley's and Greener FP's systems were too close to be coincidence. To me, the Fox looks like a very simplified version.
Greeners were very popular in America in Ansley's time, so he was familiar with them and how they worked.

BTW: if anyone knows where I can find an FP or a G gun with a top safety, please let me know. I'm trying to find one.
