Boy, that's a very nice looking pointer Chuck. I always like orange dogs with a dark nose and dark eyes. They always turned out to be good ones. I think Pointers can be good pheasant dogs but I think they need to be trained on pheasant. In fact, Robert Wehle had several pointers who won pheasant trials including the Nationals....Elhew Jungle, Elhew Marksman and Elhew Zeus. I did, however, have a pointer I felt pretty well broke on quail....well, I took him to Nort Dakota and he got in a 30 acre field of standing corn, started chasing, barking and I bet 500 pheasants flew out of that cornfield before I could catch this male pointer. He came totally UNGLUED. To say the least he was now unsteady and I had to totally rebreak this dog. Have fun with your new dog. Buzz
