Is Eezox a good choice for lubricating and protecting the internals of a boxlock action? I had some rusting occur a couple of years ago on a A.H. Fox that saw a couple very wet days of hunting and did my best to clean it up and sprayed with Breakfree. I haven't been very comfortable with that choice ever since and have wondered if Eezox is a better choice for this area. Or, is there a grease that should be applied to any internals as well?

Eezox is great stuff. It is all I use. It will protect the metal for your internals just as well as the exterior of your gun. Follow the instructions for cleaning and using Eezox from the gun care information page. The key is a little goes a long way. You want it to dry not puddle if you use too much. It is heavier than water and per the website is 10.42 pounds per gallon vs. 8.34 of water weight. I filled a glass of water and squeezed a few drops of Eezox just to see and the droplets sank to the bottom like a rock. So the next time you get in bad weather hunting and it gets wet, you know it will be protected.
