I am looking at picking up a pre-war Marlin 90 O/U in 20g.
It is in good condition for the price. But the gun wants to open sometimes when it is fired. Or at least that is what the seller says.
I am leaning towards it being a weak or worn top lever spring. The lever does not really want to snap back very well on closing. But it does return on its own.
In a non-firing inspection, the gun seems very tight. And all is operable.
The price is right for the gun, even if it needs a repair, and I see that there are many parts available for the gun.
Just wondering if anyone else with more experience with this type of gun may have come accross the same problem.
