I always wear shooting glasses at the range. Target fragments on station 7 skeet, lead shaved from a revolver, powder residue from my 1100s, I am lefthanded, they are not. I wear them for hunting too, saves my eyes walking through the brush. I used to have to wear prescription glasses until I contracted diabetes, since then I have to use reading glasses only.
I have Randolph Engineering sets and I find them excellent.
I just had a vision test to obtain a Class 4 driver's
licence, I passed, as I have a part time job driving small buses for a tourist company which has started up in the National Park here.
Anybody here whose eyesight improved after contracting Type II diabetes? My optometrist was stunned, he has not heard of that ever, nor has my bro-in-law, the doctor in England, who claims to know all.

I forgot to mention, how do these shooting glasses handle steel shot? Lot different ball-game I'd think

Cheers,

I guess as the saying goes...."if you're gonna be dumb, you'd better be tough"!

You may want to rub a lamp and wish for a Jeanie to pop out and grant you a wish for eternal eyesight.

I have seen firsthand what quality, protection rated eye protection does. I have several friends who still have their eyesight after having grenade shrapnel, IED Shrapnel and even 5.56mm and 7.62 rounds ricochet and hit their glasses.

Hopefully one day you and those like you who shrug off the need for eye protection will realize you only get one set of peepers. I also hope you do not shoot in the presence of young shooters who would try to emulate your disregard for safety.

Just for grins, yesterday I took a pair of Cabela's shooting glasses that were too scratched to wear, mounted em in a cardboard box, measured off 15 yards per the original question. "H" grade Lefever choked per Mr. Joe Wood, cylinder bore-shot straight on into the glasses. Both lenses shattered....If I hadnt lost the capability, I'd post pictures, didnt take any...eyes, ears and nose woulda been gone...
