There are few things in life that compare with owning a loyal dog. I've been blessed with several great ones over the years. My current four-legged friend is a young two and a half year old Brittany named "Stash". He's always in the same room with me and is currently sound asleep next to me in bed with his head on my pillow.

I know some people who keep their hunting dogs locked in a pen for 20+ hours a day unless they're out hunting. That is no way to treat a dog in my opinion.

Those who treat their dogs that way cannot understand the difference between a "hunting dog" and a "hunting companion".

Some say a great hunting dog can't be a house pet. I'll take my house pet that knows how to hunt over a hunting dog that doesn't have the bond with his family.

The personality of the Brittany breed is a great desire to please it's owner. Mine pleases me everyday with a little doggie kiss on the cheek in the morning when he wakes me up and when he hops up on the bed at night and lays his head on my chest to get his ears rubbed.
