Hi folks, bugger I think is the word.

I want to put an extension on the second Grant and had a made cut some walnut I had to create the extension. Right at the end I realised that he had cut round the bottom not thinking of the continuing downward cast of the bottom of the stock. So I'm faced with the following:

As you can see the only way I can make this piece of wood work would be for it to be a butt extension like some guns have that doesn't continue the lower angle/taper of the stock. It would have to be set straight....





Was this done in the past? I remember seeing some guns like this but what is the view here? Will it look OK or should I start again with another piece of Walnut. It's a shame because this piece was the best of the bunch re fit/look.
