Good guns. Had one since the late 80's. They'll take 3" magnums, but little reason to punish the gun or yourself when standard 2 3/4" work fine in most cases. I've had 2 Ithaca/SKB both 20 ga. Still have one. Very light and lively gun. Hell for stout. Mine is Imp/Mod. As I remember I paid $600 for it 5 years ago.

A bit of confusion in the above posts. 25" and 28" were the standard barrel lengths on the 20ga Ithaca SKB's. The short-barreled 12's were 26". Not sure why they went with 25's for the 20ga guns. Maybe thinking Churchill, but those guns don't have a Churchill rib.
The models 100 and 150 were extractor guns. Other than the extractors, a 150 looks like a 200: BT forend, engraved receiver. The 100 was the only one that came with a splinter. Too bad they didn't put a splinter on the 280, which is the straight-stocked gun. Some of the 280 20ga guns with 25" barrels were choked IC in both barrels. There was also a sxs skeet gun in both 12 and 20. Basically a model 200 with the shorter barrels, both choked skeet. That's one you don't see all that often.

OT Declaring an Interest: Canadian members may be interested that newf, who lives in outport Newfoundland and Labrador, just restocked and checkered a 12ga VH Parker for me. Excellent work at reasonable rate. Thank-you King,very much appreciated.

I recently bought a 200E in 20 gage for $960.00. It is in great shape, has 25" barrels and engraved silver looking receiver.
I bought a 12 gage 200E several years ago for $650. It too has the engraved silver looking receiver. I shoot it better than my O/U guns and that is why I bought the 20 gage. They both feel great in my hands.
I think tht they are a good SXS for the money!

FWIW, I had an early (1968-69) SKB not sold by Ithaca that was a 150 and it had ejectors.

In 1976 I bought a 280 E 20 gauge. 25" ic/mod. Hell on quail and has been on loan to a good friend who uses it for grouse and doves. It does have ejectors and cost me $360 new out the door. It does have that awful ray bar sight though.

I think the asking price is going to be around $15-2000.00,the more I think about the short barrel's the more I think they're not for me....I was thinking of picking it up for one of the kid's later down the road,I also found a dent in the barrel and the action is a little loose....you have to look for it but it's there.
There will alway's be another ;)'

I've seen asking prices of $2K for 280's in 20ga, although not so much recently. But I don't think they're selling prices, unless maybe for a gun that's NIB or mint.
The whole "E" thing is a bit confusing. A lot of people thought it stood for English, and the 280E was the straight-gripped gun. But the 200 also had the E attached, and it's a PG gun. Stands for ejectors in the case of the Ithaca-imported guns. And the 200's were available with both a silver nitride, scrolled receiver, and a blued, game scene receiver.
