Some of the larger dealers may have a presence at both shows. At this point I will only be in Atlanta, however I wish I could do both events.

I've sent emails to Game Fair and Foxhall. I was thinking of attending but will take my money elsewhere because of their steel shot silliness.

I'll be there. Unfortunately, the rules are made by Foxhall... not QU or SCI. Steel shots loads will be provided by Winchester for the general sporting clays course while vintage shooters can use lead in the special arena set up for that purpose.
It should be a lot fun!

Unfortunately, the rules are made by Foxhall... not QU or SCI. Foxhall may set the rules, but SCI chose the site. They should have used better judgement or asked more basic questions. I hope they aren't locked into Foxhall past this year. SCI shouldn't be associating itself with the idea a shooting club that allows lead shot is something innappropriate or not "green" enough. The fight over lead shot has been raging in England and Europe, and interestingly, it has been the CLA and BASC that have done the most to stand up for shooters by putting on Game Fairs that bring together shooters and nonshooters alike. SCI should be following their example.

Here is another response from the EPIC organizers:
the sporting clays course at Foxhall will be an all non-toxic shot course. Foxhall, with two miles of frontage on the Chattahoochee River, is the largest “green” community in Georgia, and the decision was made long ago to make the clays course green as well. Marty Fischer replied, “Any modern shotgun will be able to handle the #7 steel target loads being used on the course with no problem. Many private ranges are now non-tox only. There will be lots of loaner firearms that can be used on the sporting clays course. The good news is that we do have the Fine Gun demo area where vintage guns will be able to shoot lead shot for this event only.”
I think its incredibly poor judgement for them to have selected a venue for a public shoot that isn't suitable for for most shooters to use their own guns. I hope they will look elsewhere in the future.
By the way, the "green certification" is a designation of the National Assn of Home Builders and is part of their real estate pitch, not a designation of some state environmental agency.

Jusy my opinion..But my thoughts that the Vintage Cup would suffer greatly by the absence of many vendors who chose to try a new venue may have been premature.Seems to me that Foxhalls decision to use steel shot only will send many shooters back to Pintail Point this year. It will be interesting to hear the reports of attendees from both venues when it is all said and done.
