I've seen asking prices of $2K for 280's in 20ga, although not so much recently. But I don't think they're selling prices, unless maybe for a gun that's NIB or mint.
The whole "E" thing is a bit confusing. A lot of people thought it stood for English, and the 280E was the straight-gripped gun. But the 200 also had the E attached, and it's a PG gun. Stands for ejectors in the case of the Ithaca-imported guns. And the 200's were available with both a silver nitride, scrolled receiver, and a blued, game scene receiver.
