Tom, how were your RBL's set up? That's a whole pound plus over mine.

Both guns were set up pretty much the same. They had the standard 29"bbls., VR, BTFE, IC-Mod. My gun had DT's and 3X wood. His gun had a single trigger and standard 2X wood.
If you removed the quick change recoil pad system, you can save several ounces. Once these guns are built, that's about the only
option.
I tried to like these guns but couldn't. The RBL-16 was everything the RBL-28 wasn't: big, heavy, and slow moving.
I didn't anticipate these problems. Remember, the gun was advertised as weighing 6-1/4, 6-1/2lbs.

Tom,

I thought at the time the advertised weight in the ad was misleading as they used a decimal. I have no proof or gripe as my gun is less than 6/4 or 6.25. You had mentioned that your 16s made poor game guns, I would agree with that weight and configuration. Did you use them on clays at all?

My experience with upper end doubles is limited to looking at pics, and dreaming that Ithaca is a work of art. Tell us that you take her to the dance now and then?

I did shoot the RBL-16s at clay targets and they performed very well both at skeet and sporting clays.
The ICD-16 was my primary gun in MT last year and my RBL-16 the backup gun.
I am taking the other half of the matched pair to Canada in three weeks. It's an ICD 28ga and is just as nice. I will have an RBL-28 as backup/rainy day gun.

Very good!

I very much wanted one of the ICD guns. At the time the field grade was around 3500.00. I started scratching it together. By the time I had the 3.5 they were 6K. Shortly after that they were gone. I am fortunate that I didn't put out a deposit as a few that did may have a sour memory, I don't know. Certainly a gun that you won't see every day, in any grade.
