Firstly well done Joe. That brings back a few memories as I have been after Roe deer in the same area. It was lower down nearer the tree line and I remember waiting for a pack of Black Grouse to move off that were feeding before I could get forward for the deer. Did you see any of the black grouse?

I will be on the Derbyshire grouse moors tomorrow but just working the dogs. I am off to Scotland at the end of the month for deer but will get up on the tops with the dogs at some point for a few grouse. I will be with friends for the deer stalking but neither are fit enough in wind and limb to get up onto the high tops so will be hunting alone. Great sport. Lagopus.....
