Wonder how soon it will be in both Dakotas when you have to use steel or non-toxic shot loads for all upland and migratory bird hunting. It will never happen for me on my piece of North Dakota deeded land.
Practice safe eating. Always use a condiment.

Chuck, are you heading there with Mike and Joe?? Treb, No, I will be picking up a new dog in ND then driving south to Huron. I will meet some folks to say hello and likely drive over to the Chamberlain area to hunt state land for a day or two. With the new pointer, I will not hunt in the cornfields of a farm that I have hunted the last few years. So, I'll be looking for some wild areas to hunt.

Hi all, as far as non-tox goes, there is nothing on the radar yet. Our House and Senate pretty much has a lot of common sense and I doubt if we'll see anything soon (years). Unless the Federal Gov't. steps in and mandates a sweeping across the country law, I think we're safe. Duck opener was last weekend and it was excellent for us. Limited out both days (Sat. & Sun.). All teal and gadwalls. In spite of temps in the 70's no wind (suprise!!) and not a cloud in the sky. The only problem is too much water. The birds (ducks) can pick and choose where they want to stay...so we need folks out here to kick them around. It is easier to get the ok for duck hunting BTW. All the best! Greg

Probably some of my favorite hunts have been for waterfowl in SW Louisiana, never had a bad one in the last 20 years. Each and every grouse I hunt I have here in Wis. is great no matter what. Come to think of it all my hunts no matter what for have and will be great.

Most of my friends, we're all farm boys here, in ND don't hunt ducks or geese. We just haven't developed a taste for waterfowl. I have eaten both and didn't care for it. Greg, if your wife has a decent recipe for duck PM me and I'll try it just one more time.

Greg, Great pictures and thanks for posting!! I like that Hussey!! Is that your 'go-to' gun for all types of hunting?
Great information guys, but a few more questions. You can get a nonresident license on-line for South Dakota but can you get one for North Dakota? And in South Dakota a nonresident waterfowl stamp is by lottery only is that the same in North Dakota?

Hi thanks all for the kind words!! I do appreciate them.
You can buy a non-resident license on the net. No problem with that.
We don't have a state duck stamp, only the federal stamp is required.
Thanks again all!!!
Greg
