Making progress, but what we would like are pictures like this

I take mine in the bathroom with all the lights on and a flash if needed, and a towel under the barrels can be used to stop the background light

newf says he dabbles a bit. His stock and checkering turned my VH12 from an ugly duckling into a swan.

Hi King,
I seem to remember you speaking highly about newf before. He just needs to quit relying on the camera that's built into his cell phone.
I need to get into stock work, before I got my geology degree I used to do sculpture, mainly in bronze and aluminium using the lost wax method, but I did do quite a few wood carvings too and I enjoyed working with wood.

Below each of your pictures you will see four boxes, if you will click once on the bottom (img) box and the right click and copy the stuff and then come to Doublegun and paste it to your post, the picture will appear

Newf,

When King B mentioned your work I remembered seeing it posted at an earlier time and it was indeed excellent. This gun you're planning to restore looks as if it's going to be a real challenge, not only with the stockwork, which you are obviously quite skilled at doing, but the metal looks as if it's going to take quite a bit of work to restore as well. I hope you'll continue to post photos of your progress so the rest of us can benefit from your hard work.

Steve

PS your photos look as if they could benefit from better lighting during the photo shooting. Sometimes just shooting your photos outside if its a sunny day will produce beautiful results.

The fact that the barrel is marked " Treble wedge fast bolt " could mean it was built whilst Greener still had patent rights in force .That would be for 16 years after the date of patent. It could also mean that Willis was trying to impress his customers with the point that his gun was build along the same lines as Greener, and so cash in on his publicity and advertising. No hard evidence for this assumption but they were devious lot in Birmingham always trying to get one over on the competition.
