The whole RBL thing seems to have slowed down a lot. There have been very few notes recently about new guns. I got a call Monday that my gun would be shipped either Friday or Monday. I ordered on 10/08, PIF. It will be interesting to see the serial number and get an idea of how many are being made. From the numbers I have seen to date, unless deliveries are going to stretch out for 5 to 10 years, the estimates of thousands sold is way off. From the last numbers I saw posted, it looks like the first year of production is going to be well under 500 guns. However, that also means there were likely around 500 guns ordered in the first month. Unless orders poured in and then tanked, deliveries could actually run to many years (if there aren't a lot of cancellations).

The frames are numbered after they are cast and way before putting the gun together. I know of a high 300 serial number that may not have been delivered but it is on the frame. Remember, sales essentially started at the end of september and your PIF is only 20 or so days into the ordering. This does not count the ones that are deposit guns. I think 2000 is a reasonable number considering IMO that heavy ordering was going on here on the BBS through December of 2005. The guns being delivered to non BBS members are not reported here either.

Lucky you. I am curious if any of you that ordered between December 22 2006 and end of the year got confirmation of you orders. I just can not believe that this outfit is not able to send me order confirmation since December 22. They charged my credit card right away. I paid full amount. I called them 3 times already to make sure my order is in and I was told that it was but that they are running behind. It is hard to understand. I am just afraid that this is just sign of the trouble in the future. If they are not able to keep up with this It is understandable that everyting alse is just like house totaly out of control. There can not be any discipline in there at all. No business can be run this way. I do not mind to wait if I know that process is running its course and eventualy my gun will come up but this madness is making me uneasy.

Bill, Your correct about the RBL frame not being cast. The action frame's are machined out of a solid billet.
From what I can tell the serial numbers are assigned when a particular batch is put into production. This doesn't mean they will be delivered in order. Guns with higher serial #'s can be delivered before ones with lower numbers. Case in point, I was seeing numbers in the high 300's being delivered with order dates weeks after mine and then when I got mine it was #354
From what I have seen reported they are still working on the first four to six weeks of guns ordered back in September/October 2005 I imagine that the most orders are in that group and as soon as they are cleared out you will see things speed up. I have not seen one posted yet but they should be over # 400 by now.

Kosinar,
I cannot tell you the future but I can assure you I felt exactly like do. I thought for a while I may not see a new gun nor my money. Fourteen months after my PIF order, I received my RBL. I think you must be patient or ask for your money back. They will return it if you want but you lose your place in line. I am under the impression that they are not taking orders anymore.

I'm seeing some deliveries of orders as late as 10/10/05. But, CSMC is over a year into production I'm also still seeing deliveries of guns ordered on Day 1.
If you're willing to "wait until they ship it", then by all means do so. I believe you will get your gun, eventually.
I wasn't willing to wait for an indeterminate time period, and cancelled my order 3 months ago. I don't regret it; CSMC's lack of communication was just unacceptable to me. Furthermore, my order was more than a month beyond the most recent gun delivered - which looks like it could be another year before they would have reached it.
CSCM stopped taking orders for the RBL Lauch Edition on 12/31/06; how long it will take them to fill those orders is pure speculation, since they won't tell us how many orders there are or how many guns per week/month they are shipping.
