A ten gauge LeFever Nitro? I thought only in 12-, 16, 20 and the dinky .410 bore? Frank LeFever & Sons in Lee Center, NY? Last rumor I heard was they were no longer in business. Shame- the old Uncle Dan LeFevers were great guns indeed.

Thanks all for the kind words. I can't wait till I am done restocking the gun (someone used a NID stock as a replacement). LeFevere did a nice job on the sleeving. I bought it as a project gun. I like it well enough that when I am finished I will keep it.

Ya forend in place just accumulates cattails and water. Its a 12 ga. that I restocked.
White spots are a harmless genetic thing called vitiligo. I'm on my 7th vizsla and this is the first one that developed it. A guy on my son's sporting clays team in Minneapolis had one with it. Occurs in dogs and cats as well as humans e.g., Michael Jackson.
Unbelievable numbers of waterfowl here now and noone hunting.

Forgot about the shells. I always use #1 steel and try to get the swarm into that long neck where a single pellet will do the trick.

By the way, is that snow on the Vizla's back or white spots?...Geo Hal, we do not seem to have many Vizlas down here in GA for some reason. I wondered about the spots just because I was not much familiar with the breed, and all I'd seen pictures of were solid red/gold colored. The only one I ever saw 'in person' was a little female named "Cita" that did a jam-up job of pointing Perdiz for me years ago on a hunting trip to Argentina...Geo

Great post as always Wade! I can attest to Wades EP "Sammy", great dog!! Great pics also.
Hope your projects are going well. Can't let work get in the way of hunting!
Anyway, great job!
All the best!
