Done yesterday, one hour work including disassembly and cleaning. Deposition made on the hook face and on both hooks sides. Gun is tight now, no lateral or forward movement. Special concern are the angular surfaces, they have to be rounded with fine sandpaper, outherwise they may splinter in corners. All treated surfaces were polished. Cobalt was employed as bonding element.
Mark, yes nickel against hinge pin is a concern, decision to go was taken considering that Fox Chromox frames and barrels are made of chrome-nickel steel. If hinge pin wears in the future it will receive same treatment.
Gun fires OK.
