Wade, Good to get back to ND, Spent a couple nights in the
Willow, Got the lowdown from Rod. Car problems a nightmare. Spent 3 nights in Baraga Michigan relating to car repairs. Have an 85 Conversion van, van older than the 3 mechanics that worked on it. Problem not solved. Limped it to Yellowstone at 8MPG. ouch. On the way back got as far as Dickinson ND and it would hardly go. Everyone thought it was a plugged catalytic converter. $180 lighter the converter was on the floor and still not corrected. Stopped at a GMC dealer and found a 60 yr. old guy that new what a carburetor was. Test ride and 1/2 hour and tweeking the fuel filter and good as new. Off we went to hunt birds. Hunted CRP land and all seemed to be 2" wheat stuble or cow eat clear to the ground.
Jerb put me onto the only decent piece of land from Montana to Bismarck. Thanks, great spot. There we watched a goose hunter dumped a couple Canada's , and then a stray Yellow Lab joined up with us to hound Glens in-heat Golden. Nice bunch of birds in this spot but most flew to the island out in the lake. Then stayed and hunted around Linton and got into birds in some old hunting spots. Ready to take off and head home, I turned the van around in a field and tore the drive shaft off on a rock hidden in the grass. With good fortune the gal at the Chevy dealer located a used one and had it overnighted for repair the next day. Good as new we took off for home. Sorry to ramble, Randy
