My gun is being made as a heavy pigeon gun, so I don't think the grip is especially thin. The gun us under construction, so I can't measure it right now. The model stock was the original Parker straight grip, so nothing unusual. However, even without checkering, it feels very secure in the hand, a feeling that does not exist in all straight grip guns. The diamond grip provides that secure feeling in almost all cases where that design is used. When I went in for the final fitting when the stock was a good part body putty, it felt so good that we sent it to the duplicator as is. Now the final stock is headed up and ready to be checkered and it feels just as good. It weighed almost nine pounds originally, so I think it will weigh at least eight and a half when finished.
