I've met some old Pachmayr gunsmiths over the years, most all of them were pretty stinkin good. I've never met him, but have friends who know him and have had him do gun work....Herr Hoenig probably being the best and most famous Pachmayr employee.
I used the services of a Pachmayr guy in Ralston Nebraska (I think his name was "Menk") a few years ago, the only "local" type gunsmith I ever took a Darne too and he knew exactly what it was and how to remove the barrels etc. He did some Fox work for me and did a very good job. Told me it was nice to work on something different for a change other than changing sight beads and putting on recoil pads.
