Undoubtedly true. But, not everyone does that. I'd like to meet the idiot who suggested vinegar. Vinegar is dilute acetic acid. Stooopid.
I've had luck with a simple heat gun. Don't go nuts with the thing and unsolder stuff, but it does work.
I even had a Beretta that the owner shot a couple cases of steel through (before the steel rated tubes) and the choke belled into the thread causing permanent deformation of the barrel.
I tore up a Brownell's 'stuck choke' remover on that one, but eventually removed it with the heat gun and what was left of the Brownell's tool. No knock against the tool, it's a good tool but it has limits.
