Thanks Lax: that's huge. I once had a 22' 20g Trojan that lost 4" of brl from a snow obstruction 'blow out' and it still had .003 and .005 choke constriction.

The lug closes to the breach-end of the barrels looks like it has "28" stamped on it - wouldn't that be the barrel length? Never noticed if they stamped them with the barrel lengths when they made them - if so, that would be an easy way to identify a chopped gun at a gun show, etc.
Or does that "28" mean something else? Or is that not even a "28" at all?
Just trying to learn what not to buy...

Ty: it's a 28g gun and the OO is the frame size. Parker, Fox, LC Smith, Ithaca did not indicate brl length on the brls nor action flats.

I am not a Parker person, never having owned one. His one picture shows the muzzles. Are they altered?
As to records, I believe that the men of the era could make mistakes just like today or orders could be changed.
Twice I have looked at guns, one a Parker and the other an Ithaca where the barrels seem to have grown. Both were listed at 26" but and guns had 28" tubes.
