Why would one "Want" #5s in a .410??

I have a flat of #4, #5, and a couple flats of #6 on hand. I recently used some #4 for Kansas pheasant and earlier some #5 for some pen raised pheasant and chukar.

The #4 Federal load patterns much tighter than their equivalent load of #7 1/2, from a little patterning I've seen thru a friend's CSM 21. Amazingly, The effective range for a dense enough pattern looked to be around 37-40 yrds for chukar and pheasant, from his gun.

I haven't done any pattern testing of the #4 or #5 loads in my guns.
