I found it to be a great book, very interesting and hard to put down...a wonderful read. First editions are becoming scarce and valuable.

This was THE book that got my motor revved and steered me directly into the backroads of vintage British doubles.
Wild Skies is it that rare? I've got #88 of the original 500 signed copies.
A million bucks and it can be yours! ANY of yours! Oh yeah, I'll send ten bucks to Dave, too.

Cyril is a great guy and a bloody good shot. He finished #2 in the world in maybe 1972 or something like that shooting live pigeon with a Rem 1100!
He also has been instrumental in getting ZZ bird started here as an alternative to live birds.

Thanks!!!! Greg LS&B by Adams and Braden is one of the best, written by two great men. Buy Braden's book, As I Look Back, too - filled with some great global bird shooting stories. I misss Bob and wish to see Cyril more. As the season sneaks to a close, I'm gonna shoot some quail in their honor this weekend with a couple fine doubles.

gjw,
as everybody says Cyril launched a new era of classic guns appreciation, once you have read it, try to obtain Terry Wieland´s "Vintage British Shotguns" and Diggory Hadoke´s "Vintage Guns for the Modern Shot". Then you will have a fairly good picture of classic (British) shotguns. If you want to get further, then Vic Venter´s "Gun Craft" is the way to go deeper on several aspects of this industry this century and on how is also practiced in few other places. So far I have read trice Adams& Braden book and something new surfaces every time.
Regards,
EJSXS

gjw, Cyril Adams book is first class and I would agree it promoted interest in vintage British guns in North America from the date of its publication in 1996. In Britain in 1968 Richard Akehurst published a book, British Sporting Guns and In 1969 followed up with his book, Game guns and Rifles, these books did much to stimulate interest in vintage guns and rifles in the U.K and for that matter world wide. There followed shortly afterwards a fine series of books by Geofrey Boothroyd,David Baker and I.M.Crudgington and many others,All of which Justify a place on your book shelf.
