OSF I'd like to know when it comes back also. The smith has had it for over 2 years now. I've given him until the end of February to put a barrel liner in it. It had been bored out to .410 shotgun before I bought it.

I have several Alex Henrys, and if I remember right, there were 3 different firing pin systems or mods, as I had Ralf Martini manufature a new block for one and had to get it right. I can see if I can find the proper info, ....I do have the books. Maybe the #'s (will indicate the proper time frame)will be important for the right system.

Not sure of exactly where "how it is arranged" is headed. Anyway I have an original and a bench copy here. Firing pin recess in the top right corner of the block is in a tapered counter bored hole. Then a threaded retainer threaded into the bottom of the firing pin counter bore. Firing pin is spring loaded with about .060" protrusion above the retainer. Firing pin hole is at an angle so that it comes out on the horizontal center line of the barrel while being off center to the left(right handed gun)by about .035". This arrangement allows the firing pin nose to strike the center of the primer. The hammer is timed so that upon striking the firing pin, the pin is advanced to the .050" protrusion and the hammer is stopped in its forward motion by a shoulder on the underside which strikes the top rear corner of the action body. Thus the retainer nut is not struck or beaten up.
A lot of stuff going on with fairly small tolerances. Hope I was able to help.
