I have always wanted to do a project gun. Well, I finally took the plunge and now I'm looking for an english trigger guard and a simson butt plate if you happen to have one laying around, or could point me in the right direction.

Are you looking for a trigger guard blank or a finished guard/ If you are then be warned that you might try a dozen before you find one that goes somewhere near . I have spent a lot of hours over the years in trying to find replacement guards that will fit a specific gun. Not so bad if you are restocking but a night mare to get one to fit an existing stock . Good hunting.

To get a triggerguard to fit an old hand made gun, it's pretty much assured you'll have to make it fit from a larger one or make one from scratch.

I am going to restock this piece. It does not have one one at all at the moment. It's 1 1952 simson. I don't think it has any real value,just a shooter. More or less looking for a project to try out a new duplicator. A triggerguard blank would save some time. Who Has them. Looks like I might have to make the trigger guard from scratch. Wish I were able to scratch like ken hurst or angelo bee. Thanks for the replys.I was beginning to think no one was going to reply at all.

I have a Tula Armory Russian built hammer gun I picked up last month and have been planning on giving it an English style stock. The present trigger guard, made for a pistol grip, is way too short. However, it attaches in the front via a small fine threaded stud built into the trigger guard. After looking at trigger guards, and comparing the current trigger guard to one off my Pedersoli ML (which attaches in a similar manner but has a larger threaded stud) I was all set to purchase one from Dixie Gun Works for $29. I then remembered I had a trigger guard in with a bunch of parts I purhased on eBay years ago. After looking at the trigger guard, made originally for a muzzle loader, I decided that I could cut off the front tang, drill and tap a small hole in the front of the trigger guard at the base and then set a small threaded stud in place with JB Weld epoxy so that the trigger guard will attach in front just like the one currently on the gun. After I get done refinishing the new trigger guard, the drilled and taped hole with the stud epoxyed in place should be nearly invisible.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, be creative and you can have good results and save money at the same time.
