Isn't the BSW mark one that the Simpson firm was forced to use during the Nazi period? Jim

Yes, the following names note a migration of the same concern under say different managers, to put it mildly: Simson, Waffa, BSW, Gustloff(Werke) Foundation

I thought so Raimy as I have a "BSW" marked double that's dated 1938. Jim

Nice shotty gun indeed, but the photos with the detail show some of the screw heads as "marred up"- even the two on the bottom receiver or trigger plate- perhaps the "Swedish Chef" from the Muppets was the one responsible for that- and whenever I see a fine gun so "marked' the clouds of suspicion roll in like thunder, I am wondering who opened it up, and for what reason. But the, Foxes tend to be a tad curious at times--!!

RWTF: Was there a point you were making except the obvious that everyone can see in the pictures? Do you have meaningfull discourse or are you just bored?

No real joy on a complete listing of Swedish proofmarks, but here's a start: http://www.shotguns.se/html/hva_in_general.html I wonder if the crude "x" is an inspector's mark like Erik Isaksson?? Kind Regards, Raimey rse

There are no complete listing of Swedish Proofmarks since there are no such thing as Swedish Proofmarks since Sweden does not have any Prooflaws hence no proofmarks. The marks to be found on Husqvarna guns are productionmarks that has no legal value. Best regards pmt
