I am sort of a connoisseur of hyperbole, so I was really pleased to stumble across this gem in a listing on Guns International for a beat up Winchester Model 54 (for $2000 - the price is probably so high because it's in the ultra rare .30-06.)
The seller relates the following:
"...I purchased this firearm from a mountain cowboy in Wyoming in 1974. It has surely shot a few deer, elk and other. It is all original never have been refinished in any way. As far as condition I feel it is in excellent condition for the vintage etc. I personally took a deer at 730 yards in a 30 mph direct crosswind. I shot into the wind about 4-5 feet behind it and about 5-7 feet high. One shot one kill to the heart."
