Ive tried slitting saws a few times for cutting screw slots, I always seem to get quite a bit of runout with slitting saws, really drove me nuts, and of course the slot was always oversize .005-.010

I finally gave up slitting saws for screw slotting; I now take key way cutters and grind them to the correct thickness on the surface grinder, much nicer cuts, and since the teeth are closer together you can take a deeper cut and faster feed without fear of yanking the part.
