I have always wondered if someone could take one of those butt ugly "Fox" .410's and do some sculpting of the action and some refitting and come up with a lot more attractive gun. You would have to remove a lot of metal from the frame so you would really have to know what you were doing.... I don't think these guns are worth picking up a file for. You'd be much better off selecting a different brand, IMO. I was loaned one of these to compete in a fun shoot once. One barrel was no where close to hitting near the other. That was my one and only experience with these guns...and last.

I'd like to see him resell it for that in the near future.

"the barrels measure 60 and 62 on a choke gauge".
If he's talking thousandths he needs a new gauge.

Just a Wild Guess, but I would assume the figure on the bottom is a "FOX". As to the Fox B line I would prefer an early plain B any day over one of these gauded up affairs. As far as I'm concerned these later guns are more the "Bottom" of the Fox B line than the top.

The late guns like the one listed are miserable guns and don't create any interest. The ones that are a bit more interesting are the walnut stocked, cut checkered guns of the early days. My favorite is my "Ranger", made for Montgomery Ward, great wood, hand checkered, beautiful case color, and butter smooth action. The actions on the late guns are not butter smooth by a mile. I would rather have an early high condition Stevens with real uncheckered walnut than the monstrousity in the gunbroker ad. $325.00.
