Dang! I love those old Scotts.

Odd that it's a 10g with 2 3/4" chambers and a weight of just 7lb 3oz. And I wonder how they know the engraver's name? I've never seen a Scott with signed engraving.

Almost looks like a step up from a more standard Premier like this one:

G&H had another Scott like that a while ago. They called it a Premier Extra Special, or something like that. It was a step up from a Premier back before the Imperial Premier was introduced.

Thanks for sharing.

Nothing really odd about a light 10 back then...probably shot an ounce an a quarter shot or less out of it.

Hmm.

Replacement case. Restored barrels. (wrong color too ). Duckbill locks. 10 gauge.

Certainly is pretty but it seems 100% or more overpriced to me.

It looks like a proto-typical excelentia from the oak leaf pattern, even though it is not.

Here is a really pretty (i say prettier) Scott for 1/5 the price. I have no stake in either gun:

I agree she's lacking in the case department.....I see nothing wrong with the barrel color or the action or it being a 10 ga.

"100 % or more over priced"...try and find or have one made comparable too it and you mind find that it's 100 % under-priced.

I don't care for the oak leaves but nothing about this Scott shouted "proto-typical excelentia" grade at me ?

You my friend are looking upon a true Monalisa and don't know it.

Most English guns weren't closet queens...if you had money to buy this type gun you surely had money to use it and keep it up.

Same as now.

I doubt Kell engraved that gun. It looks like the unique work of Joe Brown. My opinion of the gun is that its a spectacular piece of gun making, everything about the gun is top notch. Price is probably a little high, but not crazy, with all things considered.
It probably belongs in a museum, there aren't too many extra special quality Scotts out there.

And remember, Scott finished ALOT of Damascus barrels in black & white, especially guns made for the American market. Matter of fact, I've seen and have had in my hands a few Excellentias and Premiers that were very high original condition with black & white finished Damascus barrels.
