Buzz, a very good example of guns for purposes. I'd guess that the K-80 would be well out of its element in the grouse/woodcock woods. It is not at all uncommon for people to shoot off-purpose guns just because they enjoy shooting said guns and are perfectly willing to accept whatever scores they achieve. I think we need to sort shooting into sessions where score matters more and where the joy of shooting matters more. For most, the gun they shoot best is not the one they enjoy shooting most.
Using objective handling measurements allows us to more easily see and understand the whys of gun handling. Also, we have a measure of how much of each factor a given gun has.
Joe's gun will be interesting both from the data point and from Joe's shooting point. Is there a low MOI boundary to Joe's ability? We will know soon.
