revdocdrew, that's comparing apples to oranges but that CHE sure is pretty and maybe it'll sell for something close to the asking price, I'm surprised Eis hasn't snapped it up yet.
edl's 28 also raises the question of having the checkering re-cut with more LPI than would originally be found on a V grade, unless it had been specially ordered that way from Meriden- not likely on a V, but... Doesn't the checkering look much too fresh for a gun of that age and with cutoff barrels too???

Here's my problem with the Robin Hollow gun, price aside - it has a 13-1/2" LOP which I assume includes that big 'ol pad. So there's probably only 12" of wood there.

I couldn't agree more. That having been said, there are stockmakers who visit this forum who could easily replicate an original-looking stock with a matching piece of wood to your own dimensions and the original stock would be saved to maintain originality for the next owner. Anyone who could pay that kind of price probably wouldn't flinch at $3-4K for a high-quality replacement stock.

I have no dog in this fight, but, to be fair to the Robin Hollow guys, they admit that the CHE is a fake. They still choose to market it at $45,000, a price that may be too high, but by how much? Yes, I have seen the gun, and it will be sold to someone for some price. It's pretty nice.

Here's a head scratcher. The original reserve wasn't met at $9000.00 and the gun didn't sell. Now it is relisted with no reserve and an $8500.00 bid from the same high bidder from the last go around. Ed wouldn't sell it for $9000.00 and now he is going to sell it to the same guy for $500.00 less.

CH I think you are correct, he is bidding on his gun himself. I have seen him do this before.

From the looks of things Ed's just as bad with his math as he is with his case coloring.
That grounds for being thrown off Gunbroker if it's true. I'm sure Gunbroker can easily find out of it's true by checking the IP's.

How would Gunbroker get by without 150 of Ed's refinished gems? Where could we go to find more torched guns to show new buyers what to advoid? Whjo would we have to make fun of? Still if he is bidding on his own guns he should suffer more than removal. Shill bidding is slightly frowned upon by those in charge. Too easy to confuse it for fraud.
