Pheww! What a relief. He really did a nice job.
And what a strange thing to have happened.
I've thrown my gun to the side automatically whenever I've tripped on a root or vine while hunting. Instantaneously as I feel myself going flat to the ground I jettison the gun to the side.
Most times I'm in the woods, too, so there are trees and stumps and all manner of growing things. Nothing has ever happened, not even a scratch or dent.
And then something like this happens. A simple fall a few feet to the grass. Must have been the angle it hit(?)
