I kind of feel sorry for the guns all around it!! Here is a beat up Model 21 that needs work commanding a big price and all of the attention while all the other guns don't even have a bid on them and their selling for a fraction of the price.

Poor guys!!!

Off topic but in another auction site a book about the Model 12 is selling for more money then some of the actual shotguns being listed.

That Winchester name carries a lot of weight!!

Winchester more than a name.......a way of life.........LOL

A Winchester has a certain vibe, a Purdey has a one as well, just polar opposites, I am just as proud of both carrying them in the field. Parkers Foxes and Smiths never did it for me, but they have their own legions here, its all good

In a nutshell, for all you experts: This gun has never been touched by an idiot gunsmith. End of story.

As Greg suggests, Jackthedog is a great seller. No reserves, good pictures, good descriptions. If you like it, you can buy it.

True but it has been touched by an idiot owner. I don't need to be an expert for that.

Well Mike, Winchester did borrow a bit from a fine Brit gun--the BSA--when it came to barrel construction on the Model 21. smile

Seriously . . . Winchester, when it comes to rifles and shotguns, means about as much in this country as Purdey does in yours--even though they're not at all alike. Winchester guns run the gamut from the very basic to the truly spectacular. The Model 21 was the company's sole attempt to make a fine side by side shotgun--and mechanically, it is that. It was the last of the American side by side classics to appear. The Model 21 has modern dimensions, is capable of digesting modern ammunition, and is incredibly strong. Compared to the other American classic doubles, not many 21's were made--especially not in the smaller bores. I'm sure you'll hear more from the real Model 21 fans. I've owned a few, shot them well enough, but am not in love with them to the degree some others are. I'll leave it to them to add their views about the mystique of the Model 21.
