My advise is depends on your size. I am 6'3" and 250 pounds and Left handed. I can not hit squat with the usual gun so I bought a broken stock FE Lefever and cleaned it up and restocked to my dimentions. Costs gun $600 but all the metal was good. Stocking, about $2000. The gun fits me and it shoots straight. I like the gun. Total cost in the gun about $2800.
I have a FE exhibition for sale for $1500 with Damascus Barrels that can be seen at
http://doublegunhq.com. The stock was 13.5" and a piece of wood was added some time ago, not by me and but is a well done job. I had the left hammer repaired by Keith Kearcher last year and was told that that is a problem with Lefevers. It should be alright. I am selling it because I started collecting F grades and decided to collect a series of Lefevers. C (my highest grade in school) to DS and I do not need two FE's.
