I need to darken some engraving on a Browning O/U. It is steel that has been chrome plated (silver nitride). I have heard that some members use jeweler's ink for this application, but cannot find a source on it. Does anyone know of a source,or is there another simple way to darken the valleys of the engraving?
Thanks

india ink works well. Let it dry then rub off the high spots with a pink eraser.

I use India Ink repeatedly. Apply, dry, wipe. Repeat. After 3-4 coats and wipe aways you get that nice dark accent to engraving details.
