Odd part to develop a break - bridles don't directly bear any recoil or force from the tumbler, do they?

Ya'll almost gave me a heart attack! I checked the bridle and there is no crack, it was a fiber of some sort. The hammers are not dished either.

Is this gun worth shooting, or should I just put it on GB?

Thanks for the close scrutiny of the pics, I always learn so much on here.

Putting pictures in front of gimlet-eyed double gun aficionados is always risky business (whistleing past the graveyard)

I would be shooting it. If it was originally imported to this country when new, it probably came through Dakin. As I recall, in the early sixties, they were a $300 gun. That was a pile of money for a Spanish gun at that time.

"Single trigger Spanish guns are extremely prone to flaws and are to be avoided like the plague. Even if you have a good one, a negative price/value is assigned to your gun because of the stigma associated with Basque trigger timing skills."

"Extremely" may be a bit extreme. I have three Spanish single triggers and zero problems. The negative price stigma is mostly due to extreme negative evaluations. JMO. Let's just say they are a bit more trouble prone. And don't think that ANY make has been trouble free.

As far as the 215 goes, look closely and you will see the older UAs have better executed engraving than the Grulla 215. I inspected quite a few.
