I prefer checkered butt on game guns but that isn't an option with this gun, so I'm going with leather pad. I think the existing hideous orange pad can be utilized as it is well-fitted. Excellent idea and conclusion to a good little thread.

There are a few things worse than a orange pad. Any white line pad on a gun. Worse is a poorly done leather pad. I have seen some which looked like a sanitary napkin on the end of a gun. If you can not get the size right or keep the pad crisp and the right size for the gun just do not do it.

Mr Martin - Foxy Lady only dreams that his ramblings are cryptic. That way his drivel is elevated to mysterious, arcane wisdom, at least in HIS head, of course.
He fancies himself a master of sophistry, but in actual fact he's a lost schoolboy desperately trying to impress.
A sad, sad man-child.

I think it's all just about what we become accustomed to. The same guys that are poo-pooing whiteline pads probably had numerous guns with them and probably installed them or had them installed on guns, back when they were in vogue. We're as fickle as the women with their shoes and bags.

Can I adjust the "ignore" function to also "ignore" any post that refers to the ignored poster? It is confusing to read references to the "F" word and not know that the F'er has posted some drivel. I would rather have no clue.
