I cut a board and drilled holes in it for each chisel. I had to make 2 of them slotted for the widest straight chisel and gouge. I then drilled 2 holes in the back of the board and hung it on my peg board just over the bench. I also have holes drilled for 10 palm chisels that I also keep in the board. The holes are 2 deep and staggered where one is not right in front of the toher row.
I have had that setup with the same board for over 10 years. Have cut the top of my hand when reaching under them a couple of times, but them I am accident prone by nature anyway.
I bought the complete set that Brownells used to carry and have been very satisfied with them
