lots of good wood suppliers out there. Luxus as has been mentioned has a great reputation. I have bought several pieces of good English from Preslick over the years

Give him a call, as he does not really put pictures on his site of what he has, but can send you some from which to choose.

Got some very good deals from Steve Heilmann:

I totally trust his wood to not only be dry, but to be aged and stable. Just because a chunk of wood is at the right moisture content does not necessarily mean it is ready to turn into a stock. His is ready.

Dressels has a wide range of wood with good pics for you to look at:

I think they still have some blanks on sale right now, so you would need to look in all of the price catagoreis to see if they had soemthing you liked. I have only bought one blank from them and have not yet used it.

So there are 4 people to talk to about blanks.

As for toal time and cost, it all comes down to what level of quality you are willing to accept. THe more quality you demand, the longer you wait and more you pay. If you could be happy with less quality, then it can be much cheaper and faster. If you just want a nicer piece of wood with the exact shape of your current stock, then it will not cost so much or take so long.

many people can turn you a new stock on the pattern of your old one. Shane Thompson can turn you a very close copy of what you now have and it will require little fitting if you want to do it yourself. His number is 208547-0383.
