Having indirectly opened this proverbial can o' worms, I was curious how long it might take for someone to mention the older 20 bore RKLT FN Supers. IMHO, they have to be one of the sweetest handling field guns of all time w/either 26" or 28" bbls. and quickly negate any discussion detracting from the lower pivot point/deeper action design. Personally, I think their great handling is a result of the smaller diameter wrist and its angle/configuration which 'some' Citori models have tried to duplicate, though, IMO, never to the same degree of success. OTOH, some of the older 60's vintage Miroku 20's made for the European market are evey bit as lively.

Not true - the rib/bore relationship has nothing to do w/ the bore/line of sight relationship. Draw a line from bore center - draw a line of sight - stick a rib (or none) in there anywhere you like and it changes nothing so long as it does not intrude on the LoS. The rib may be used as a handy reference but it has no effect on the other two. I may not be saying that well but the rib is not a "sight" per se.

I have a few "deep frame" guns (Superposed Brownings) and a few "shallow frame" guns. In reality, the difference is only a few millimeters. Regardless, I really can't tell any difference between them as far as shooting or handling goes. Even more, I don't really notice a difference between the O/U's and SxS's that I have. Just my personal observations. No, I am not a newbie shooter.

TW,
I agree, they never duplicated the 20g Super with the clear Citori attempt to do so recently. They never will with the Citori's super thick barrels. The guy at Skeet's in Oklahoma told me he backbores the heck out of Citori's to get the handling better like the Super.
