eightbore Sidelock Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 14,447 Likes: 278 Maryland	The "barrel down" carry is meant for use in brush where the barrel would snag on branches if carried in the "barrel up" position. I find barrel down to be very comfortable and safe, and much easier to control the muzzle when bending over.
