noticed that the lever does not return to the center and the locking cross bolt does not sit flush with the receiver Is this normal? Thanks Alan
Alan are you easing the top lever back when you close the gun or are you allowing it to snap back into the closed position? If you are easing the top lever back try allowing the gun to lock up under its own spring tension and see if this doesn't solve some or all of the problem.

There's just no pleasing us. Top levers to the left, top levers to the right.

Greener bolt sticking out like that certainly wouldn't please me.
I know it's not a top quality gun, but...
This is just laughable.

I've seen a bit of crossbolt protrusion--although not much--on new Merkels as well, and they often have very "stiff" actions until they've been shot a bit.

Shoot!! Lizabeth, SHOOT The gun is safe to shoot and will wear in. Please report back on how she shoots.
Last Dollar, why up so early today?? You going fishing?
P.S. Send me the gun and two cases of ammo and I will return the gun to you in four months with both issues corrected
Mike

Yep, it happens with Merkels (it did on 2 of mine when new) but if you push the lever to the left the bolt goes in flush. With Merkels it's because of tight tolerances. Will the DeHaan/Huglu bolt go flush if the lever is pushed tot he left? If not there might be a problem - we haven't heard back from the OP on this?
