I trying to help a friend identify a rifle maker. The owner, Paul, will be along to answer question. He believes that the rifle originated in Southern California.

Michael,
I can't positively identify the engraver but the scroll style is Germanic. It was probably engraved by someone trained in Austria or Germany. E. C. Prudhomme is a possibility.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

Since H. B. Strawn is stamped into the stock, maybe it would help if there were more pictures of the stock.
