Keadog, the wood that I showed a picture of is very fancy, unforunately it's very fancy in the wrist area also. However the 391 has a big piece of steel and a draw bolt to help give the wrist area much needed strength.

This is an over simplification, but if you're looking for wood to use on a sxs, look for fancy in the rear of the blank and plain in the front. A blank that has run-out from side to side or top to bottom on a sxs stock is a problem waiting to happen. I'll post a picture of a blank that is going on a high grade Lefever that I own and it wii explain what I mean.
