A beautiful pair of guns Bob!

I was able to handle one of these Grant Lightweights at the Atkin, Grant and Lang table at the Southern Side by Side last month. What a dynamic 6 lb wand it was! Francis Lovel demonstrated this Baker back action for me. It is a very smoothly functioning self opener that opens very widely allowing for easy loading. Churchill Premieres are reportedly built on the same action.

Francis told me that they are very popular with grouse shooters in Scotland and that AG&L was going to reintroduce this action as a bespoke gun.

BTW, Francis Lovel has 2 Lancaster 12-20s and a Grant Lightweight (not the one at the Southern) on his website. http://www.francislovel.com/gunList.php?filter=english

Your guns have Lancaster engraving with Grant fluted fences, a blend if you will, of the two styles of engraving of two distinct companies which were merged during the 1930s.
