From time to time I see cross bolts that have been installed in the head of a shotgun stock to repair a crack, does any one know where I might be able to get one to repair an early German gun?

There are far better ways to repair that sort of a crack than through-bolting the stock. Why don't you post some photo's of the problem so that others here can offer some suggestions.

Can't help you with the buttstock- but your comment about an early German gun caught my eye- I have barrels, forearm and lock parts from a parted out 1891 era German guild hammer 16 with Twist barrels--outside chance I may have something, other than a buttstock, that you may need- I also have buttplates and swivel studs for same- studs for both underbarrel rib mounting and also the rear studs that are set into the stock--RWTF
