Was out of town for a few days - went to Lost Wages.
My gosh, what a money vacuum - and no, not the slots!

Got a little done.

Well, one step forward, two back.

Started drilling the firing pin hole, at a double angle. 5/64 drill - from the front side.
Yup, right at the end - the drill broke off.
No way to remove, so I had to make a new breech block.

That is done, now to get up courage to drill the darn hole.

Anyway, found a piece of wood, ready to start chopping away at it. Figure is decent, hidden by the paper pattern.

AND we are now free of the Long Gun Registry!!!!!

Yup- ever since ol Nevada legalized the "World's Oldest profession" Lost Wages has slots all over the place. So, if you like to 'spin the wheel of destiny" and take your chances with STD's, AIDS, hep B & C, etc-- let 'er rip!!!!

Actually it is two walnut boards laminated - to get decent grain at a reasonable price. Done this before, and the join in the center is usually hard to see, and makes a stronger stock.
My "Webley/Henry" is that way.
The "tortured" grain is behind the paper.

Runs
At $12 for a $5 drink, you don't need the hookers to take you for a ride.
And the Ding, Ding, Ding of the slots everywhere will drive you to the $12 drinks!

I agree, I like to watch these projects. I'm sorry I did not have my camera with me a couple weeks ago when I saw a Henry harpoon gun. The action was a least twice as large as any Henry I have ever seen.
